THE DOMINATRIX
WHAT IS A DOMINATRIX?

A dominatrix, professional dominatrix, or "pro domme'" is a woman who earns a living taking on a dominant role in a paid meeting with a client, while engaging in activities which are considered kinky. This appointment or playtime is commonly referred to as a "session." Despite the toys in her suitcase or her tight black wardrobe, the meeting is a deeply psychological dance between two people, and she is leading it. Most of what we do, takes place in the mind and in our eyes before we ever utter a word.
She must learn all about the psychology of what it is that we do, as well as have a deep knowledge of BDSM and fetishes. She must also learn proper safety in order to give her client a positive and fulfilling experience, one in which she should herself enjoy. Common activities that a dominatrix offers are bondage, cross-dressing, spanking, humiliation and degradation scenes, as well as torture of the genitals (known as CBT and NT), among many other activities and themes.

A dominatrix has a lot of freedom. She can make her own schedule. She can take time off for as long as she may need to. She can choose to only do the activities she is comfortable with doing, and say no to the activities which she despises or makes her uncomfortable. She does not have to see clients who she feels are not a good fit for her. She can specialize in the areas of kink that she loves the most and even create an entire persona for herself based on that archetype. She can be the strict disciplinarian, the cold-hearted sadist, the slave-training Mistress who enjoys men jumping at her commands, a rubber vixen, a queen to rule, a goddess to be worshipped or a princess to be spoiled (and many others).

A dominatrix has no age requirement. Any legal adult can become a dominatrix . There is no age that is too old to begin your career. So she can dominate in her 20s, and command armies of men in her 50s. We even have some wonderful women in our industry in their 60s and 70s. (We do recommend that while you can study to become a dominatrix, you wait until at least the age of 21).

There is no body type requirement for you to become a dominatrix. You do not have to be a thin runway model. You can use your curves to make men weak. Your ethnicity does not matter either, as it is merely a beautiful, powerful part of who you are.

A dominatrix takes appointments in several different places of her choice. Typically, a dominatrix will use a place set up for kinky play called a dungeon. Some choose to use hotels. All have strict procedures in place, in order to keep themselves as safe as possible.

Being a dominatrix is considered a part of the legal adult industry, even if you do not remove your clothes. Speaking of that, removing your clothes is not a job requirement, neither is performing sexual acts with your clients.

Professional domination isn't just limited to happen within the walls of a dungeon. This can happen in the form of shopping excursions, or even vacations to remote destinations. A client may wish you to accompany him while you hold his leash, to some of the most exclusive fetish events in the world, or resorts.

A dominatrix, best of all, offers a safe and judgement-free environment for a kinky individual to be themselves. An environment where they can learn about themselves and grow. This can be very healing and therapeutic for many people, especially those who have kept this a secret and felt alone and ashamed of it.

There is unfortunately no recognized licensing in the professional domination industry.
You can however, start working at a dungeon or go under a mentorship from someone in your area, with a lot more knowledge and have a MUCH easier time, taking classes with us beforehand.

Professional domination is not legal in a few areas of the United States and in some Countries. Sometimes it's not the job itself, but some activities which cannot legally be offered. You may have to forgo performing certain acts that may be illegal in your place of business, or may not be able to be a dominatrix in your area at all. It is always best to consult with a local lawyer before starting your career to find out this information.
